A small uniquely shaped container awaits in a long forgotten community pavilion with a perfect stage.
At the corner of the Altamaha Community Center’s entrance stands a granite monument showing that this park was dedicated to cancer survivors from the area. While the community center’s building is still used as a voting precinct and wedding hall, the rest of the park has been forgotten. Dilapidated play equipment and broken fountains mar an otherwise beautiful setting. A covered pavilion with a stage stands as a sentinel to a once proud community center.
