Saturday, April 22, come celebrate Geocaching.com's CITO week with the Finger Lakes Geocachers as we do our duty to keep our playing board beautiful by picking up our 2 mile stretch of Rte. 14 as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program.

This 2 hour event will require the teamwork of many to complete and if you can't see yourself walking the 2 miles from parking to Tin Can Alley, then there will still be plenty to do as we will also be cleaning up the long neglected area immediately surrounding the parking lot as well. The parking area alone contains tons of garbage and things such as tires and mattresses and has been the site of illegal dumping on more than one occasion. If anyone would like to volunteer their services shuttling a few people and/or bags of garbage from Event HQ to spots along the route that would also be appreciated.
The CITO will begin with a brief safety presentation so you know what is expected of you. Please keep in mind that you will be dealing with garbage and be near traffic and/or parking areas. A keen eye and safety will be important. Some hard hats, gloves and vests will be available but it is recommended you bring your own if you have them. The Finger Lakes Geocachers, Geocaching.com and the NYSDOT will not be held responsible for any injuries sustained during this event so please use common sense, teamwork and appropriate safety measures whenever possible!
Help give back to our game's playing board, meet new friends and earn a souvenir on April 22. We can't wait to see you there!!
