Laura Pulido is a geographer studying racial inequality, social movements, and environmental justice, especially as they apply to Latino/a communities in the US southwest. She has analyzed how economic processes and policies have allowed some people to move away from unhealthy environments while trapping others in those unhealthy places. She has also tried to explain when and how communities affected by negative environmental conditions will mobilize to demand change. She currently teaches at the University of Oregon.
