The Church

We can find little information about Hersham Baptist Church.  The records we have found indicate that it is situated on the site of the original St. Andrew’s Church which was opened in 1936 following a rapid increase in the Hersham area population after the 1914 – 1918 war. The St. Andrew’s Church was built to the designs of R. J. D. Beaty-Pownall Esq and dedicated on October 18th 1936 by Dr. Macmillan, the second Bishop of Guildford.

More recently a ground floor front side extension was applied for and approved in 2002 following a number of previously unsuccessful applications dating back to 1991.

We can find no other information on its history and any help to update this page would be appreciated.
