Geocache Description:


Back in the 1970's and 80's the space tracking station here was thriving! It had a population of up to 200 people! Next to GZ you will see the remains of the old pump house that used to suck water out of the Orroral river into a reservoir to supply water to the Space Tracking Station. Now, water pump houses may not be as exciting as large radio antennas, but without water, this station would not have been operational. This was therefore an important component to this once amazing facility.

In addition to the pump house, there used to be a small bridge across the river here. I had used the bridge on occasions many years ago, but today, only the supports remain.
