The former Sloan property is the first preserve the Township owns outright. Purchase of the preserve was made possible by a grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund along with a Scio Township grant through the Land Preservation Fund and matching funds from the Wastenaw County Natural Area Preservation Program.
