The Allan family owned the estate from 1874-1959 when they sold it to the forestry commission. Alainn means beautiful in Gaelic. This is the first of three caches I have placed along the waterfall trail in memory of my mum who loved waterfalls. Please wear waterproof/sturdy footwear as the trail is along forest paths which can become slippy and muddy when wet. The path is uneven in places but well worth the walk.
