Yes, we're doing it again! Thanks to your awesome CITO work in 2014 (GC51P76), 2015 (GC5N00Q) and 2016 (GC6CKM7), the stretch down by the lower end of Mamaroneck Creek is now reasonably clean ... and quite to my amazement, it mostly stayed this way!
So, for this round, we are going after another section. There won't be quite as much trash, but spring has been wet, and the creek is running high, so please come prepared for swampy terrain. Having a spare set of sneakers and socks in your car is recommended (sadly, there is no GC.com "attribute" icon for this :).
As usual, Saxon Woods CITO takes place during Earth Week, and is bound to earn you the coveted CITO geocaching souvenir! The event has the okay of the Parks Department, who will again provide trash bins and other equipment as needed. Fellow geocacher coringa212 works for Westchester County Parks, and will again help organize things on site.
We meet at the posted coordinates at 10:30am on Saturday, April 22. From there, we will proceed to the CITO location (about 0.5mi away) and clean up what we can. Bring sturdy boots (or old shoes that you don't mind getting wet and dirty), and leather gloves if you have them.
Like in prior years, we can again use the Picnic Pavillion in the park for the day, and we will also host a Picnic Event there after the CITO, from noon-1pm. See GC70T1B. You can attend the CITO, the picnic, or both, but only CITO participants will be eligible for raffle wins at the picnic.
Looking forward to see y'all again!
