This cache is located near the Lowell Floodgate. When the Snohomish River rises, they open the floodgate and flood the farm lands. Then when the water receeds to a safe level they pump the water back into the river so the farms can dry out. The river road was upgraded years ago after being washed out now the wetland areas on the side of the road provide some relief when the river gets too high.
