Greetings citizens;
It is time once again to dust off your tents, and find your crazy hat, load up the kids in the double wide chariot and head to Champoeg! We are back with another fun filled week of insanity and chaos. This time, they have given the reigns over to Lobotomy and his team of misfits and mad scientists. We have decided to test all of our fellow campers on their physical, mental, and luck skills in a contest of goofy fun. That's right, The Olympics, Champoeg style!
For specific information on other activities throughout the week, check out the schedule below. The schedule is subject to change. We will also try to answer some questions about the different activities. We also have a website which contains additional stuff to outfit your Champoeg needs.
We have already filled up most of the the A loop for camping, but you may be able to snag a spot in B loop if you hurry up. We also suggest asking other campers if you can share a space. It would help if you knew them, but this could also lead to an interesting story.
Main Event: The (Champoeg) Olympics
This main event will start late afternoon on Saturday and will consist of over a dozen small mini-games. Teams of four will compete in each event, gathering scores against other teams. All events will be added together to determine the overall gold, silver, and bronze. We highly encourage you to start putting together your teams now. It is always great to see groups create their own look and theme. There is no age limit, but we would discourage younger children competing (below 10).
The additional waypoints associated with this event will be used as the locations the teams will need to go to for each event. These sites will not have anything at them until after the official start of the Olympics on Saturday afternoon. More information will be provided at that time.
Ongoing Optional Event: Assassination Game
Participation is completely voluntary, and anyone can play. Those that elect to play will have a chance to become Caesar for a pre-determined period of time. While a player is Caesar, others may choose to aid or assassinate the player. If a Caesar is assassinated, the next player in the line of succession becomes Caesar, and the game continues until all Caesars have been killed or until the closing ceremonies on Saturday evening.
Caesars will be given a totem that indicates their ascension to the throne. The totem must be worn and publicly displayed at all times during a player's time as Caesar. An assassination occurs when the totem is removed from the Caesar's possession. At that time, the deceased Caesar will accept their fate and the next successor will be notified of their ascension. New coronations will be communicated via walkie-talkies.
The game is played 24 hours a day, and the duration of a Caesar's reign will be determined based on the number of participants. Order of succession will be randomly selected by Bonch. While you are Caesar, you may not leave the park, but you can hide anywhere within the boundaries.
Additional details will be determined as we get closer to the event.
Friday Night Formal Event: Toga Party at Club Cache
After the successful party at the last camp out, Armando and Victoria are back to host the nightly bar in Yurtville. This year, we encourage you to bust out your bed sheets and make yourself a toga. As always, the drinks are free, but the host would gladly take donations.
