2017 WGA SPRING GEO CAMPOUT

Put this one on “Your Watchlist!” Marathon County’s Big Eau Pleine West Campground Reservable Shelter #19 will be the WGA Headquarters for the Wisconsin Geocaching Association's 2017 Spring Geo Campout.

Shelter #19: N44 44.466 W089 51.193 GPS coordinates – accuracy within 100 feet

Big Eau Pleine Park is a sizeable park containing 1,450 acres of second-growth mixed hardwoods, forming a two-mile peninsula thrust deep into the waters of the Big Eau Pleine Reservoir. The majority of the park was gifted to Marathon County in 1937 by Consolidated Water Power Company.

WEST UNIT GROUP Campground is also close to the regular West Unit campground, boat launch, and WGA Headquarters. The WGA has reserved this Group site for Friday May 19th and Saturday May 20th. Only tents will be allowed at the Group Campground. Cost for this camping will be $10 per tent/night of May 19 and May 20th. WEST UNIT Campground and WGA Headquarters: 46 sites, all 46 sites have electricity. Enclosed Shelter #19 has picnic tables, windows/sky lights, fireplace, covered wings, picnic tables, grills, fireplace.

SOUTH UNIT Campground is within a short distance of the WGA Headquarters.

Nametags will be created for PICK UP ONLY at the WGA Spring Campout at Big Eau Pleine Campground in Marathon County on May 20th. Please only request a nametag if you will be able to pick up the nametag during the campout. Use the template below for your WGA nametag. The thread will be open until May 15th. On the 16th, handcrafting your special one of a kind tag will begin. Yes, if you have more than one team member, they can also have one made up.
