Geocache Description:

Famous are the Mayan temples, with iconic architecture and exotic histories. However few people know that the Mayans built underwater temples to honor the elusive sea monkeys.

The cache is hidden in 22 of water.  It was tethered to a structure about 10 feet from of a submerged Mayan temple.  From the cache location you can watch sea creatures dancing on the temple in the sunset.

You can find the cache by scuba diving or snorkeling from the public beach just to the south or from one of the resorts along the waterfront. Or you could come close in a little boat.

Log the find by emailing the cache owners with the shape of the structure it was tethered to (about 10-15 feet from the temple). Do not post your answers here.

We replace the container every year when we visit Scuba Club, but then it goes missing. Now we have decided to maintain it as a kind of virtual cache. Just send us the email description.
