La Font de la Rutlla forma part del projecte 'Olesa: Aigua Segle XXI' que la Comunitat Minera Olesana està duent a terme amb els recursos hídrics d’Olesa i la comarca del Baix Llobregat.

Va ser inaugurada l'1 de maig de 2016.

La nova font disposa d’una placa commemorativa amb un poema, de Miquel Guillamón i Casanovas.
