Boiling Spring Bypass Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

orange: Today, I confirmed the train is missing. It finally left the station. I also went out to retrieve the cache, however, I could not find it at the location I believe it was orginally put at. I did not have my GPS, which is a good indicaton why I'm not too active in geocaching anymore, and could not find it. So either I have a horrible memory or the cache also is missing. I will return one more time with GPS and coords to see if I can find it. At any rate this cache had a great run and I am archiving it now.

Geocache Description:

A relatively easy offset cache in the Tourne, a Morris County park.

This cache begins at the location of the July 27, 2002 event cache, A Mid Summer's Night Cache. The cache itself is a large clear plastic barrel type container. But to find it you must answer the following questions. The answers will be visible from this cache's coordinates.

Questions:

A: How many cabooses are on the train?

B: How many grills are there in front of the pavilion?

C: How many wooden columns of the pavilion face the train?

D: How many of the train cars are painted orange?

E: How many wheels are on the locomotive?

F: How many cars are being pulled by the locomotive?

You will find this cache at the following location: N 40 54.ABC by W 074 27.DEF Replace the letters with the numeric answer to the lettered question. For example if all the answers were 1 the coordinates would be N 40 54.111 by W 074 27.111.

Now that the you have the coordinates you may walk from here by walking along the park road and taking the first trail you come to on your left or you may drive to these coordinates N 40 54.588 by W 074 26.503 and then cross the road and follow the red trail.

Whatever way you go please consider taking the Boiling Spring Bypass and visiting the boiling spring at N 40 54.214 by W 074 26.865. Due to the current drought conditions there isn't much boiling going on but when the water table is higher the boiling action is an interesting sight.
