Where am I going from Benld? Traditional Cache

This is a simple find on the north edge of Benld, the start of a nice  scenic drive through the countryside.  Just turn east. You are looking for a magnetic cache.

Benld, Illinois lies in Macoupin County in the heart of Illinois. The population in 2000 was 1,541. The name is derived from the name of its founder Benjamin L. Dorsey  who was responsible for gaining the land the town sits on and the coal mining rights.  When it came time to name the town, he offered his first name and middle and last initials.  Ben L D. This was once rich coal country. Rt 66 once came through here. Tarro's Collisium Ballroom hosted many big name bands during the Depression Era through to Rock n' Roll era. The hometown rumors are that there were direct bootleg connections between Benld and the Chicago mobsters, maybe even Al Capone during prohibition days. Today it is a quiet town which brags of dinosaurs  (they are created here and sent all over country) and a few other geocaches. The mine closed many years ago but the town feels the aftermath--mine subsidence. The 5 year old grade school building was rendered useless in 2009 due to portions sinking. It had to be razed . Since then there has been other parts of the town experience subsidence too. Even the 100+ year old Methodist Church is not exempt.
