Sand Ridge is likely the most unusual forest on earth, considering it was once a desert. This delicate eco-system supports a vast variety of plants included enough pine trees to allow limited logging.
The cache is an ammo box located near a watering hole – another unusual occurrence for a desert. Best parking is at 40 degrees, 24.518 minutes and –089 degrees, 52.557 minutes. Take marked trails and fire roads (no vehicles allow) most of the way. Walking is a little hard due to the sand. Hunting is allowed here so don’t be stupid, the hunters know where animals go to get water so don't sneak up on them!
