Geocache Description:

Come join us and Signal under the pavilion on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.

Bring your own chairs and folding tables. Bring something to eat, and something to share with others. There is a picnic table already there to put the food on, but additional tables and chairs are needed. There are NO grills here so plan accordingly. There is a porta-potty close by. There is plenty of parking. I believe there is an electrical outlet in the pavilion and will bring a power strip for crock pots. We will being chili and pasta salad. ***Please state what food you will be bringing to share with others, so we will not end up with a half dozen pasta salads, etc. ***Keep your fingers crossed for nice weather. By attending you will earn a special souvenir!

"This year, we’re celebrating geocaching around the world. You’re invited to join Signal the Frog® as he travels to different countries to geocache like a local. No plane ticket required!" "Signal’s first stop: Germany. While he’s there, Signal will celebrate a local geocaching tradition called Dönerstag. To earn the Dönerstagsouvenir, attend an event — anywhere in the world — on April 13, 2017. About Dönerstag: Dönerstag began in 2007 when German cachers met at kebab shops around the country all at the same time. The tradition caught on! These special events are held each year on a Thursday. In German, this makes the name “Dönerstag” a pun: The German word for Thursday is “Donnerstag.” Kebab translates to “Döner.” Last year, over 6000 players attended 233 Dönerstag events. The events were held all over Europe, from Germany and Austria to the United Kingdom and Switzerland. How to join in: You’re invited to join in this year’s Dönerstag from wherever you are in the world. Attend and log a geocaching event on April 13, 2017, to earn the souvenir."
