All cachers, both locals and visitors, will be welcome. Sunset is listed for 21.45 hours, so let's hope for a fine, clear evening. But this is an exposed location and may be chilly, so make sure you wrap up well.
When: Friday 19 May 2017, from 9.30pm to 10pm
Where: The trig point at Dunnet Head, overlooking the lighthouse and across to Orkney
Why: Because we will be visiting the area, and thought it would be a good idea
Dunnet Head is managed by the RSPB as a nature reserve, and as this is the bird nesting season they ask that anybody bringing dogs keeps them on a lead (and obviously picks up if the need arises).
I am assured by RSPB that access to the trig point is by a hard surfaced path with a gentle gradient, so suitable for wheelchairs. There is dedicated disabled parking for registered users closer to the trig point. The T rating reflects the slight gradient involved.
Dunnet Head is also one of Ye Ole Survey Monuments series (YSM095) and is loggable as GC45CC , so two for the price of one if you haven't already logged it!
