In April 2007 a new idea was born in the German geocaching community: Geocachers joining decentralised events following the first 'Gründönerstag-Event' in Berlin: GC10XPP.
Since the day 'Gründönerstag-Events' started in 2007, the word spread all over Germany and the world, being celebrated each year on Maundy Thursday. The community always meets at a Döner Kebab location somewhere in town.
The 3rd Annual Dönerstag in Sydney carries on the tradition introduced by Carkla in 2014, with the 2nd annual event held by JordsAU in 2015. After taking a break in 2016, Dönerstag returns to Sydney this year!
This event is all about having a Döner (or, better still, a vegetarian-friendly falafel), talking about geocaching and other important things, and swapping travelbugs or coins with fellow geocachers.
- Location: Enfes Kebab at Darling Harbour
Harbourside Shopping Center, Level 1, Shop 137 (food court)
- Day: Thursday (Dönerstag)
- Date: 13th April 2017
- Time: 6:30pm (1830) - 7:30pm (1930)
- Bring: Any trackables for discovery or swapping, plus sufficient cash if you are going to buy a doner kebab (or something else) for dinner.
If you plan to come, please log a 'Will Attend' - we are looking forward to meet many local and tourist geocachers!
