Geocache Description:

With a class of NDSS students we learned about Geocachings history and hunted for some by our school. We then hid our very own. They came up with name, location and container.The students use the Third St Park trails to get to and from school, making this a prime location for their own cache.

This Cache was placed by a NDSS West Coast Wilderness class. The park borders Third St. and has a variety of trails within it that centre around a protected marsh, with some connecting to Buttertubs Marsh - a wild life sactuary and popular bird watching locaton. Third street park is home to a variety of trees, some looking to be part of an old orchard. The park is Wheel Chair accessible, and parking can be found at the beginning of the trail at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. The Cache is off the paved path down a grassy trail.
