15 Years of Ye Olde Survey Monuments Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Janechick: A truly brilliant event and so great to meet you all. The 2 wooden trig log books are now doing the rounds as trackables in their own right and you could encounter them at future events. Many thanks for attending - Jane & DB

Geocache Description:

An event cache between 2pm-4pm in the Family Room of the Farmers' Arms just across the road from a trig point near the Farm Shop that you are welcome to visit on the day.

Ye Ole Survey Monuments or YOSM (GC45CC) is a very long-lived special 'travelling' geocache which is owned by cacher outforthehunt. All the details of what to do can be found on the GC45CC page, and http://www.yosm.org.uk.

25 March 2002 was the date the first Ye Ole Survey Monument was placed at Failand Surface Block on the outskirts of Bristol, so on Saturday 25 March 2017 it will be 15 years old! This is just one of several events in the UK to celebrate this special anniversary.

The venue is open for food and drink all day and if anyone would like refreshments please let us know so we can keep the hotel fully informed. There is a trig point located just across the road at the Farm Shop and permission has been granted for cachers to go and visit the pillar on the day.

There will be someone in the family Room of the venue from 2pm-4pm on the afternoon where the logbook will be located plus the chance to partake in geochat and exchange trackables. We really hope to see you there.
