A quick find at the little Humboldt-Clow Cache itself is winter friendly....getting to it may not be.
One day we were driving by this little cemetery and I noticed something odd...a mail box? I called my Dad and asked him what that was all about and he didn't know. He said to call my uncle who is on the township board. He told me that a local couple placed the mailbox here and left a guest book inside for visitors to sign. They also placed the sign. We thought this would be a neat spot for a cache and were given permission to place one. Growing up, the road in front of the cemetery was not paved. I went by many times on my way to my Grandparents house and use to go running on this road as well. The road was paved in 1985/86. At last count Kittson County had 49 cemeteries. That includes private, public and abandoned. The Township maintains the cemetery. My uncle warned me that there are a lot of gopher holes here so use caution and watch where your going. You won't have to search long to find the cache. There is off road parking and in the milder months you should be able to drive very close to ground zero. There are a couple writing utensils, some swag and a small prize for the FTF. By the way....you will have a nice view of Humboldt at this location.
Congrats to AWOL on the FTF!
