This geocache was first made ready by Hamish Steptoe, a guide at this husky farm many years previously. However, it was only when a client participating in one of our 5-day wilderness husky safaris in 2017 - ardent geocacher John Edwards - pushed us a great deal, that we gained the incentive needed to activate them. (He also thought that they would motivate our 6-year old to progress in his geographical interest into searching for concrete vs mythical objects on his phone.)
The location of this geocache is at the entrance to the largest responsible husky farm in Enontekio.
The cache is a 10x6x3cm clip 'n lock box that contains a log book, pencil, a picture & info about one of the huskies on the farm and a few toys / trinkets. It will take geo-coins and small TB's. As always if you take something, please try and replace it with something of similar value or interest.
As mentioned previously, the cache is at the side of a main road so there is no need to enter the property to find the cache and sign the logbook. However, although there is not usually too much traffic this far north, there can be some big Norwegian goods lorries passing by, so you are welcome to park in the client carpark if visiting in the daytime (8am - 8pm).
If you are passing at night, PLEASE BE EXTRA QUIET as you don't want to start 170 huskies howling and barking since the owners might well get out of bed to see that everything is OK with them! Whilst being more than happy to maintain the cache, they would love to have uninterrupted nights.
