You will be visiting downtown Lancaster to get this smiley. Downtown can be quite busy during the summer months. Activities include Friday Night Bandstand, movie nights, car shows and the very popular Lancaster Festival which celebrates the arts.
The Old City Fountain was obtained through the J.W. Fiske Company, New York City. The zinc structure cost $3,215, raised by a local women’s group. The fountain was dedicated on July 17, 1890 and has been in continuous operation since. It is one of two replicas that legend says once stood in Etain, France. The second copy is in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
