This is an interesting wee part of the countryside around Ellon visited by the Formartine and Buchan Way. The main part of the line from Aberdeen opened in 1861. Just south of this bridge was Esslemont Station, open from 1861 until 1952. The station is now a private house which is why the cache is not placed any closer. A good view of the building can be had from the line, and the original design of the station can be seen. The platforms are still obvious.
The cache is a box and can be accessed from either the line (look for the steps!) or easily from the road. Please park considerately if cache'n'dashing, the narrow road here is the driveway to the Station house. The cache is big enough for small swaps. Please rehide well!
