Please avoid night time caching and Sunday mornings-services start at 8:45. Also, consider noting the waymark for the old Baptist cemetery was there, not far from the Baptist Church.
There has been some question as to the actual date of organization of the McGrawville Baptist Church but thought to be some time in 1827. Prior to that time, a group of people had been meeting in private homes, a log cabin and in a school house in the community. A church building was needed and land was leased from Asher Graves on the condition that a "house for public worship be erected thereon and...the church to pay one cent consideration yearly upon demand". The building was erected and opened for worship in 1832. The records show that in 1834, the church had 104 members, a Bible class, a "Sabbath School" and were to take an active part in missionary work.
Congratulations to MathQtPi and Wrestle457 for the shared FTF.
