This is one of a series of caches going from Hartlepool harbour entrance to Seaton golf club and beyond !!
It is on a new sea defence pier which replaced a very old and worn pier. that was called the Skeleton pier. Unfortunateley a member of my family was killed here in the 1930's
The cache name is honour of " Lord of the rings" and if you have read the books or watched the movies you will know that Gandalf used his staff to light the way through Moria
