Geocache Description:

Alicecaching was scouting out the area, looking for a place to hide a geocache. We started at Emily Gap. What a great spot, but already a traditional and earth cache here. We can’t flood the area so a broader search was needed. Back in the car. Time to go hunting.

Heading North out of Alice, we found a dry creek bed and followed it out to our first stop. Plenty of likely hiding spots out here but not accessible by all. Probably need a 4WD. Let’s cross that off the list. Jumping back in the car, we headed back to the highway, and headed further north. Crossed the tropic of Capricorn, and decided to head cross country to our second stop. Plenty of open space but it looks like it might flood here. So no go again.

He headed back towards town, but found a turnoff on the way and decided to head in. It looks a bit rocky for the average cacher but managed to stop and get some coordinates for a potential T4 cache.

This is hot work, so we headed in back into town for some lunch, before trying out the other side of town.

We were bopping away to our playlist, when before we knew it, we had crossed The Finke River. Bugga !!!, Better turn in here and see what can be found. We pulled over on Ernest Giles Road and went for a wander. Now most people can get here. So a waypoint was taken, and back to the car. Back towards Alice, two more hides were needed. It had cooled off in the afternoon (for a change) so we decided another cross country, middle of nowhere hide was needed. Stop number 5 provided this.

One more needed, And somewhere different. Somewhere in the desert maybe? And why restrict it to the Northern Territory?
