La chiesa di Santa Maria della Passione è una Chiesa cattolica milanese.
Per raggiungere il cache e la stupenda Chiesa passerete prima per Via della Passione dove troverete la piccola scatoletta, vedrete una bellissima facciata di uno stabile con colonne in marmo sulla sinistra e poi raggiungerete questo gioello del tardo Rinascimento milanese.

Entrando vedrete una chiesa abbastanza spoglia, con le sedie per i fedeli che raggiungono solo metà della navata centrale.
Sono previste visite libere e a pagamento soprattutto nelle famossissima Sala Capitolare. Se volete vedere i dipinti portatevi qualche moneta per accedere i fari a tempo.
Un capolavoro ??? Eccolo
Mi ha colpito molto, entrando sulla sinistra nelle parete destra il digiuno di San Carlo Borromeo, capolavoro di Daniele Crespi. Il dipinto rappresenta una delle opere migliori del Crespi, e contemporaneamente una delle rappresentazioni più celebri del santo. La tela è caratterizzata da una composizione semplice e da una forte carica emozionale. Forte contrasto chiaro scuro, il Santo che si fa tentare dal cibo mentre prega e digiuna. Un viso solcato dalle lacrime.
Entrate ed osservate. Spettacolare.
La sala capitolare
Uno dei capolavori della chiesa è la sala capitolare, decorata da un monumentale ciclo pittorico di Ambrogio Bergognone (1510-1515 circa) con tavole, affreschi (Cristo e gli apostoli alle pareti; Santi e papi appartenenti all'ordine dei canonici lateranensi nelle lunette; grottesche e cielo stellato nella volta).
Nell'antico refettorio era un tempo conservato l'affresco con il Sacrificio di Melchisedec di Giovan Paolo Lomazzo, oggi perduto.
Il convento
Il convento, già sede dei Canonici Lateranensi, è oggi occupato dalle aule del conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi. Vi accorgerete che lungo la strada sono sempre presenti studenti che entrano ed escono con loro strumenti di lavoro... il più comune è il violino.. forse perchè la custodia non lascia dubbi sul contenuto.

I was very impressed, to the left as in the right wall of the fast of St. Charles Borromeo, Daniele Crespi masterpiece. The painting is one of the best works of Crespi, and simultaneously one of the most celebrated saint representations. The painting is characterized by a simple composition and a strong emotional charge, in full compliance with the dictates of the Counter in the field of painting. By the thick darkness of the background emerge only the figure of the saint, the table on which are placed only the prayer book and the frugal meal, and the altar with a crucifix. The elements are illuminated by a violent light, and made with raw realism evident in the still lifes of the dinner and tears streaming down the face of the bishop, creating a scene with a strong ascetic content.
The chapter house
One of the masterpieces of the church is the chapter house, decorated with a monumental cycle of paintings by Ambrogio Bergognone (1510-1515 approximately) with tables, frescoes (Christ and the apostles on the walls; saints and popes belong to the order of the Lateran canons in the lunettes; grotesques and starry sky on the ceiling).
In the old refectory it was once preserved fresco with the Sacrifice of Melchizedek by Giovan Paolo Lomazzo, now lost.
The convent
The monastery, once the seat of the Lateran Canons, is now occupied by the classrooms of the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi. You will find that along the way are always present students coming in and out with their working tools ... the most common is the violin .. maybe because the case leaves no doubt about the contents.
