Gemtree is one of many caches on the Outback Way-finder Trail - the longest Geocache Trail in the world. The Outback Way is one of Australia’s great four wheel drive odysseys. Known as ‘Australia’s Longest Shortcut’, the route runs between Western Australia and Queensland.

Located 140km NE of Alice Springs on the sealed section of the Plenty Highway, Gemtree is a welcome port of call for young and old. The kids living here go to school using school of the air! Info sessions and visits are available with advance bookings to their school room.
A visit here will also bring you to view the heritage listed Mt Riddock hut (during business hours)The homestead was built between 1927 and 1930. It was dismantled in 2012 and then relocated to Gemtree Caravan Park, 140 km from Alice Springs, in 2014.
