CONGRATULATIONS TO SINDEE AND CADE (SANPETEGIRL) ON THE FTF THIS CACHE!
ALERT: Please see new coordinates posted on 8/14/2017 due to a move required by the progression of construction in and around the sanctuary building.
The church building at this location was built by the United Methodist congregation of Windsor, California and first consecrated as a sanctuary in March of 1960. This site has seen many other uses since the Methodists moved to a new location across town to the east in about 1997. Now, the entire site is being renovated to become the Calvary Chapel River Fellowship. You may encounter workers engaged in the remodeling effort, on going maintenance, or members of the congregation conducting church activities in the various buildings. As you may expect, there will likely be a lot of activity here on Sunday mornings.
However, be assured that Pastor Chris Blaustone has authorized this geocache to be placed in the exterior landscaping adjacent to the west side of the property. There is no need to search actual buildings. This is a park and grab. Geocachers are invited to use the Calvary Chapel parking lot and follow the sidewalk around to the cache, provided that there is room away from active construction. Alternate parking can be found on the city streets and in the general vicinity of the Town Green. Sunday Farmer's Market, and events on the Windsor Town Green can make the public parking very tight.
This geocache is meant to serve as a travel bug and geocoin hotel, and to develop interest in geocaching among some of the very young members of the congregation, who will be helping with care-taking of the cache.
