Geocache Description:

The Price Is Right: Deluxe Dice Game

The Dice Game & Deluxe Dice Game debuted on The Price is Right on June 2, 1976 and was created by producer Robert Sherman. The game was originally played for cars with four-digit prices and the first digit was not given. For about the first year that Dice Game was played, the prices of the cars could contain any digit between 0 and 9.

This made the game extremely difficult to win, partly because the obvious numbers were impossible to get exactly; owing to this, the current rules were implemented, even though there were winners under the old rules.

During the 1980s, when cars under $6,667 were still common, the game was occasionally played for cars with five digit prices. When such cars were offered, the game was known as "Deluxe Dice Game"; it is believed to have appeared for the first time on April 22, 1983. The word "Deluxe" was added to the top of the game board and an extra display box was added for the free digit. The yellow board debuted on November 1, 1983.

NOTE: Driving to this cache is NOT ALLOWED so you will need to walk to it. There are paths that ATV's, Dune Buggies Quads, and other such vehicles have used in the past, but this area is now protected tortoise breeding habitats. It is against the law to disturb them. There are soft sand barricades 2 wheel drives can not go over without getting stuck! By attempting to drive to these center dots, you will destroy the area and force these caches to be archived.

The quickest walk is from the following caches: Dice Chess, Sic Bo, or Duell. The terrain goes up and down on the way to the cache and your vehicle is not always visible.

DO NOT drive directly to them due to tortoise and other endangered habitats. There is also downed Barbed Wire! /p>

PLEASE BE CAREFUL with the containers and hide exactly as you found them. If the container is damaged or missing, DO NOT replace them!!!!!! As you can see there are special containers for this Geo Art! Please just log a DNF and move on.

This Geo Art series is in honor of all the games we played growing up that involve dice. There are 32 caches that make up the outer sides of the dice as well as the 2 center "Snake Eyes" This is the new and improved Dice Series Geo Art. In March 2017 while performing a maintenance run with all new containers, I discovered due to the harsh rains of winter some areas had been washed away. So since I was already upping the Difficulty, I needed to up the Terrain as well. So the old Dice Series was archived and 2.0 was born!

For the most part all GZ's are the same, or off 3 - 6 feet. Again, if the container is missing, DO NOT replace them. There are special containers for this Geo Art! That is why the Difficulty is high. Please just log a DNF and move on. Logs from throw downs/replacements will be deleted!

DO NOT drive on unmarked areas.  The caches are NOT in anyone's front yard so please do not disturb those that live here.  They are aware of the series and don't mind as long as people are responsible and polite.

Also, make sure you have plenty of water especially in April through October as it gets very hot!
