Pomphlett Lake Traditional Cache

A Traditional cache highlighting the poetry along this part of the South West Coastal Path, I drive past these poems nearly every day and it is absolutely worth stopping to read, not just Pomphlett lake but the others along the same wall. My favourite is actually the next one along.

Please park sensibly, this is not a cache and dash, it is also beside a busy road so please take care with children and animals. As you will understand please return exactly as found.

"Pomphlett Lake"

Here on the path of coastal history, 

Stands this breezeblock bulkhead ,

between the land and sea,

It is no rock temple to poseidon's might, 

adorned with conch shells blown by aquatic Amphitrite, 

but a blunt impediment to the natural view,

holding you from nature and nature back from you.

So, look no further than the mind's eye,

to see the storm-blown sail and watch the seagull in full cry.

Yet beyond this wall where Pomphlett Lake departs,

is the precise spot where every ceaseless ocean starts.
