Rules for this puzzle: No intentional red herrings, no oddball (fishiness) methods of presenting coordinates (UTM, for example, or also having coordinates read backwards), and no leaving off the N32 and W97 just to make it more difficult. There may be more than one layer on this puzzle. Collaboration is allowed and you may ask me for hints after there has been a FTF.
Now for the puzzle...
This puzzle will be quite the detour from my regular style. I believe, if you don't like the puzzles I usually present, that this one will be much more fun for you.
The object of this puzzle is to sink my ships before I sink yours. This game is playable on any modern browser, including your phone - just click the link below.
To begin, you will have two options on how to proceed. You can place your ships on the board yourself (don't forget to rotate some of them) to try to outsmart me or you can choose "Quick Start" and your ships will be placed randomly for you (don't worry, I won't peek). From there you get first shot (its only fair). I will counterattack immediately, so be prepared for a quick game.
I owe the idea for this puzzle to CacheSleuth in Oklahoma. He has a fantastic series of game puzzles and he has been generous enough to provide me guidance on how to implement them here in Fort Worth.
