This is the fifteenth of a little series I have decided to place in commemoration (or some times celebration) of pubs that have disappeared.
This is another pub I remember frequenting especially on a pub crawl as it was our last stop in Heston, before crossing the A4 and Lampton Park and heading into Hounslow.
More recently when I visited (less frequently) it appeared to be quite run down, but I still have fond memories of time spent here, and in the adjoining hotel, including family meals, a stag do, a funeral wake, and a wedding reception.
It was named after the racehorse 'The Master Robert' that won the 1924 Grand National.
It has recently closed and the whole site earmarked for redevelopment of new housing and a new hotel.
This magnetic cache is only big enough for a logbook, so please bring a pen.
Happy Hunting.
