The 4 Bird Houses are between exit 32 and exit 37
- Bird Houses of Cook County Trail #1 (GC6P9FJ)
- Bird Houses of Cook County Trail #2 (GC6P9G0)
- Bird Houses of Cook County Trail #3(GC6P9GH)
- Bird Houses of Cook County Trail #4 (GC6P9GV)
(There are several other caches along this route to find as well!).
If you choose to do the trail first, you will write down the number on the bottom of each birdhouse along the trail. The number on the bottom of each birdhouse will be a number in the combination of the lock. (#1 will be the 1st number on the lock, #2 will be the 2nd number on the lock, #3 will be the 3rd number on the lock, #4 will be the 4th number on the lock)
This trail is along Hwy 41 between Adel (exit 37) and Cecil (exit 32). There is safe parking/pull off areas close to each birdhouse. Interstate travelers going south can get off at Exit 37 and head east to Hwy 41, turn South on Hwy 41 towards Cecil. Interstate Travelers heading North can either go to exit 37 and follow the above directions or you can get off at exit 32 and head east to Hwy 41, turn North on Hwy 41 towards Adel and get the caches in reverse order (remember the clues will need to be entered in the lock from Birdhouse 1 – 4 for the correct combo).
Inside of this cache, you will find a log book, a chest for Trackables, and a small crate for swag!
This cache has been placed with the permission of the campground owner. Please do not drive through the campground and disturb the campers. Please ensure that you lock the box and close the latch also. I hope you enjoy the series and Cache On!
