Geocache Description:

Through a forest walk, into a well hidden picnic area with amazing views over Lough Corrib, looking onto the Connemara mountains

This cash is exactly 2.5 miles from the market cross in the middle of the village of Cong, so it is ideal for walking, cycling or driving. Head west out of Cong and take the turn off for Corr na Mona & Maam.

This road is heavily tree-lined, but these do clear and you will see the forest on the hill in front of you. It is also sign-post and the turn-off is at N 53° 32.036, W 09° 19.111 - the signs will welcome you to Ard na Gaoithe wood. Its still a good 15 minute walk into the picnic area - it is signed, so don't stray off into the forest side-roads. The road will open out into a car-park and picnic area, elevated above the Corrib.

To get to the cache, go to the small Chalet at the far-end of the car-park. Look back to the car park and you will see a small path heading back the way you came, but heading downhill and toward the lakeshore. The toughest part of this will be the brambles - they aren't very dense, but just be careful. Go through the bushes and when you get to the lakeshore, the cache is under a pile of rocks.

Cache container is a big tupperwear tub containing-
Rubber Chicken keyring, Plascticine, Ring-pop, playing cards, Glow-in-the-dark space stickers.
