The Mountains are Calling Challenge Mystery Cache
The Mountains are Calling Challenge
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This challenge celebrates our beautiful mountains and all of the opportunities that we have to get outside and enjoy them.
To log this challenge, you must have found at least 500 caches in California with a minimum elevation of 1,000 feet above sea level. There are no restrictions on difficulty, terrain, or cache type. The only restriction is that you may not use your own hides to satisfy the requirements.
For reference, most of the mountains surrounding our area are in the ~2,000 foot range, so this challenge can be satisfied by the "top half" of many of our open spaces and county/state parks.
To see if you qualify, use the checker:

To demonstrate that you qualify, just copy the sample log provided by the checker and include it with your log. Mine is posted as a note to show that I meet the challenge requirements.
The cache is a small lock & lock hidden just off the Priest Rock trail in Sierra Azul. Its altitude is a respectable 1,718 feet, which is just under 1,000 feet of elevation gain from the nearest trailhead. Enjoy the view while you're here!
Sierra Azul is open from dawn to one-half hour after sunset.
