Geocache Description:

Mardi Gras themed cache

The earliest reference to Mardi Gras appears in a 1781 report to the Spanish colonial governing body. That year, the Perseverance Benevolent Mutual Aid Association was the first of hundreds of clubs and carnival organizations formed in New Orleans. This park is named after the founder of Slidell. Plenty of parking by the playground where you'll start the search Medium sized Army box filled with Mardi Gras trinkets and treasures. Take one and leave something if you like. Items will be replenished as they start to get low.
