Route Guidance: From Yew Tree Farm, the footpath crosses the large undulating field ahead of you to reach the road opposite the kennels. It may be easier when the grass is long in the summer to stick to the perimeter of the field keeping the hedge on your left. Be aware this gate is currently locked! Most GeoHounds can probably squeeze under but GeoCachers may have to clamber over... Turn left up the road for 80m then take the footpath on the right through an old gate. This leads you through a smallholding with some miniature horses along a well defined path – please keep dogs on a lead through here! When you emerge through the rusty gate into the field, follow the edge of the woods up to the obvious Oak Tree at the top where you’ll have a superb view over the vale and your route so far – on a clear day!
If you want a longer walk in the woods, this would be the best spot to break off this circuit and complete the Duncliffe Wood Premium Cache circuit aiming for GC6BZ30 Duncliffe Wood 4 next by crossing the stile into the woods and turning right, following the small path until it joins the main track. Rejoin the Stour View Stroll after GC6BZ23 Duncliffe Wood 3.
