Backstory: These woods have been haunted for many years by a mad geocacher who steals smileys (geocache finds) from other geocachers. Sometimes he leaves these woods in order to visit your house to steal your smileys.
As you follow the story, and the path, many puzzles await. The geocaches are physical boxes with hidden compartments. Find the way into the cache, sign the logbook, trade toys, and collect more clues. When you solve the mystery, if you solve it, you will almost be at your car. If a cache “stumps” you, continue the series, as the way will be revealed. You need to keep track of the clues in the caches to catch the bad guys and keep your smileys safe.
A new access road was installed last summer (2016) and can be reached off the north end of Pettinger Rd. (Street across from Freddies Market, just N of creek) Stay to the left and climb into the forest. The road ends at the parking lot. Please leave the geomobile in the parking lot, and hike, ski, run, snowshoe, bike, horseback ride, or skip to the caches.
These caches have been placed with the permission and blessings of the Briley Township Board. This recreation area has been underused and neglected in the past but a new group of citizens and a new board are willing to open to as many non-conflicting uses as possible. Thanks Folks!
These cache some ideas have been stolen from other states and the internet, and of course engineered larger because we have mental issues with micro’s. (If it can’t hold a coin…)
These are a new level of cache craft for us and we ask you to respect the containers. Some ideas have been stolen from other states and the internet, and of course engineered larger because we have mental issues with micro’s. (If it can’t hold a coin…) These are not designed to be easy, and none are going to fall open by luck. They are built to handle some rough usage, but hammers and chainsaws are not allowed.
