There are many canals in Kodaira city which was made in the Edo period.
There are many canals in the Tama district's river canals or buried canals due to urbanization flow, but there were many canals in Kodaira.
Following the transfer from the state owned land to the city land for four years from 2001, Kodaira actively preserves the canals.
It is wonderful to preserve and protect valuable remnants so that they will not be lost in urbanization.
It is said that Oonumata-Waterworks was cut out as a part of the water from Nonaka-waterworks in Kyoro 14 (1729) or Kyoho 19 (1734).
Oonumata-Waterworks divided from the floodgate in Tenjincho goes east north of Ome Kaido Road, then goes north along the Shin-Koganei Kaido Road and is divided into east and west.
The flow heading west merges with the branch from Ogawa-Waterworks, further north and flows to the premises of "Tokyo Gas - Musashino" which is the practice place of the present FC Tokyo.
After that, it joins with Ogawa-Waterworks and it is said to have flowed upstream of the Ochiai River, becoming Kodaira-drainage.
I installed cache at the place that is the current end of the current flow of Oonumata-Waterworks.
You can not check the flow of water directly, but you can hear the sound of water flowing.

小平市には江戸時代に作られた用水路がたくさんあります。
多摩地区の用水路は都市化の流れで暗渠になったり埋められた用水路がたくさんありますが、小平市ではたくさんの用水路が残っていました。
2001年から4年間にわたって国有地から市有地に移管されされたのを受け、小平市では用水路を積極的に保全しています。
都市化の中で失われてしまわないように貴重な遺構が整備され守られるのは素晴らしいことです。
大沼田用水は、野中用水からの分水として享保14年(1729)または享保19年(1734)に開削されたといわれています。
天神町にある分水門から分水された大沼田用水は青梅街道の北側を東進したのち、新小金井街道に沿うように北上し、東西に分かれます。
西に向かった流れは小川用水の分流と合流して、さらに北上し現在のFC東京の練習所である東京ガス武蔵野苑の敷地内に流れていきます。
そのあとは、小川用水と合流し、小平排水となり落合川の上流に流れていたといわれています。
このキャッシュは大沼田用水の流れの現在の最終端である場所に設置しました。
流れを直接確認できませんが、水の流れる音をきくことができます。
