Once there was a little shaded walking trail around the Charleston Retention Basin. It was a nice, relaxing stroll and afforded decent cover for a hide-in-plain-sight geocache.
Alas, it is now redeveloped all modern and such with those beautiful shade trees gone and a much broader basin carved out - such is progress.
The old cache was found in the mud and retrieved. It will be rehabilitated and find a new home. Now below the deck of a platform - no need to leave the platform and trudge around on soil or muck - is a micro cache. Something to attract the visitor on a sunny stroll.
The Retention Basin can often be filled with slashes, quacks and other sounds as wildlife makes its home or takes a holiday in this locale. Keep a sharp eye and you may see some of it.
