Old Dominion University began in 1930 as Norfolk Division of William & Mary. In 1962, William & Mary was dropped and Old Dominion College was born. Today, the university consists of five colleges on the Norfolk campus, plus satellite locations and distance learning. In the past twenty years, ODU has seen a lot of expansion. Most notably for the community was the addition of the Ted Constant Center Convocation Center, which hosts concerts and sporting events. You might even see Big Blue there. Voted one of the best college mascots, the kingly lion is sure to entertain at events. One of the most recent additions was the newly renovated Ballard Stadium, at Foreman Field, which hosts ODU football which in 2009 had the best record ever for a first-year team with a 9-2 season. Good luck getting tickets, however, as games are sellouts.

Which is the mascot of ODU?

a) A lion, “Big Blue” N 36 52.789 W 076 18.621

b) A butterfly, “Ole Darling Unicorn” N 36 53.292 W 076 18.694

Congrats to chjbundr for FTF!
