Geocache Description:

This multi/offset cache will bring you to and provide some history on some famous cannons located at Fort Phoenix.

The posted coordinates will bring you near an informative sign and a cannon located near the center of the fort.

N 41° 37.A[B+1]C W 070° 54.[D-2]EF

According to the sign, the five large cannon are 2A-pound guns, made of cast iron and dated 182B, and were mounted here in about 186C.

The small naval cannon is the only gun dating to the Revolutionary War. It was brought here in 177E from a supply of weapons captured from the British in the Bahamas.

Look at the cannon near the sign with a bronze plaque wrapped around the top of it. There is one date located on the last line: 18FD.

The final cache is a small lock-n-lock that will be difficult to find with deep snow. Please rehide well and hope you enjoy.
