28 липня 1912 року було оголошено про заснування в Одесі артилерійського училища. Будівля чітко нагадує Московський Кремль. Воно спочатку було головним корпусом Сергіївського артилерійського училища. Головну будівлю офіційно заклав 22-го червня 1913-го року онук імператора Миколи I генерал-інспектор артилерії і шеф училища Великий князь Сергій Михайлович. У його честь училище і почали називати.
Училище побудовано з червоної цегли, що є нетиповим для архітектури Одеси. Ці будівлі з червоної цегли утворюють замкнутий двір. Значний інтерес представляє огороджуючий його паркан, опори якого вироблені із стовбурів 107-міліметрових гармат зразка 1877-го року. Вага стовбура гармати 625 кг. Ці гармати використовувалися в російсько-турецькій війні 1877-1878 років, яка, як відомо, закінчилася звільненням болгарського народу від турецького ярма. До вершин стовбурів приварені металеві ядра. Ця огорожа унікальна, точно такий більше ніде немає.
На стінах училища так само можна побачити цікаві графіті, більшість з яких зроблені курсантами на честь вступу в училище, складання іспитів або випуску. Для напису або малюнка на цегляній стіні найчастіше використовували багнет-ніж; в хід також йшли цвяхи, монети та ін.
З 2009 року Головна будівля і частина території були віддані Одеському педагогічному університету, який знаходиться там і до цього дня.
Припускаю, що в нічний час доступ на територію може бути закритий.

July 28, 1912, it was announced the establishment of an artillery school in Odessa. A building clearly resembles the Moscow Kremlin. It was originally the main building of the Sergievsky Artillery School. The main building was officially laid down on June 22, 1913 by the grandson of Emperor Nicholas I, inspector-general of artillery and chief of the school Grand Duke Sergei Mikhailovich. The school is built of red bricks, which is atypical for the architecture of Odessa. These buildings of red bricks form a closed courtyard. Of considerable interest is the fence enclosing it, as the supports of which were used the trunks of 107-millimeter guns of the 1877 model. The weight of the gun barrel is 625 kg. These guns were used in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878, which, as is known, ended with the liberation of the Bulgarian people from the Turkish yoke. Metal cores are welded to the tops of the trunks. This fence is unique, just like this nowhere else.
On the walls of the school you can also see interesting graffiti, most of which are made by cadets in honor of entering the school, passing exams or graduation. For an inscription or a picture on a brick wall, the bayonet knife was most often used; there were also nails, coins, and so on.
Since 2009, the main building and part of the territory have been given to Odessa Pedagogical University, which is still there.
