Sewickley has several Civil War veterans and many of them are buried in this Cemetery. This monument was originally erected in 1866 to honor these soldiers. Unfortunately, the original statue did not resist the elements very well. By the year 2000, the statue was in very bad shape. Local organizers raised funds to have a replica of the original created and put erected in its place. The replacement was re-dedicated in 2005. The original statue now resides in the near-by mausoleum.
The Cemetery is open during daylight hours. Do not attempt to cache after hours.
