The Shotley peninsular in Suffolk has beautiful countryside, quaint villages and is surrounded by water on three sides- the rivers Orwell to the north, River Stour to the south and the North Sea to its east. The villages hold varied charm, with many churches, pubs, cafes and marinas dotted throughout the region. Additionally there is naval history to be discovered, and we would recommend visiting Shotley church for a glimpse to its past and the forlorn sight that the gates to HMS Ganges show. Additionally there is a museum to this iconic naval institution in Shotley Marina
