This is our second challenge cache and is based within the Shotley peninsular in Suffolk. To claim this cache you have to have found at least 50 caches in the county of Suffolk. these finds should include ten traditional, five question (other than this cache), and five multi caches. Please take the time to find the physical part of this cache as the view is absolutely stunning. In the spirit of the old Shotley Peninsular Challenge it would be nice to have finds on the peninsular east of the A137 although under new Groundspeak rules the whole of Suffolk has to be included. 
Once part of the Suffolk and Essex Border Caches, this series covers both the Harwich and Shotley peninsulas.
This cache replaces the previous Shotley Peninsula Challenge Cache. One comment made was what a disappointing spot for a challenge cache when there are so many beautiful areas on the Shotley Peninsula. So this spot has been chosen for its absolutely beautiful scenery and history! Sited on a footpath overlooking a vast vista of the River Orwell, with the Orwell Bridge (in spite of concrete is majestic in it's appearance), and the lovely scenery near side and far side and off up river towards Chelmondiston and Felixstowe. This is sited not too far from Freston Tower, a Tudor Folly!
Sometimes sheep may be in the field so please keep dogs on a lead.

The Shotley peninsular in Suffolk has beautiful countryside, quaint villages and is surrounded by water on three sides- the rivers Orwell to the north, River Stour to the south and the North Sea to its east. The villages hold varied charm, with many churches, pubs, cafes and marinas dotted throughout the region. Additionally there is naval history to be discovered, and we would recommend visiting Shotley church for a glimpse to its past and the forlorn sight that the gates to HMS Ganges show.
