Die am 7. Juni 1949 eingeweihte Feldwegbrücke stellte die Verbindung zu den Grundstücken auf dem Neckarwasen her. Die Rohrbrücke, wie sie auch genannt wurde, war der Ersatz für eine bereits 1939 gekaufte Brücke aus Altbach, die dort nicht mehr benötigt wurde und einen Altarm des Neckars auf 52m Länge überquerte. Sie besass aber nur eine Breite von 3,60m, eine Tragkraft von 6 Tonnen und hatte an dem, vorgesehenen Platz noch durch eine etwa 30m lange Holzkonstruktion ergänzt werden müssen.
Zum Bau der Rohrbrücke für 110000 Reichsmark hatte das Wasserwirtschaftsamt geraten und dabei insbesondere auf eine günstigere Breite von 4,50m und eine Tragkraft von 9 Tonnen hingewiesen. In dem genannten Preis nicht enthalten waren der Aufbau der Brücke sowie der Pfeiler und der Bodenbelag. Eine weitere Besonderheit der Feldwegbrücke ist, dass sie ursprünglich den Neckar überquerte und heute, durch die Flusskorrekturen bedingt, die Lauter überspannt. Die Brücke aus Altbach wurde 1948 in Bodelshofen aufgestellt und 1988 abgebrochen, als die neue Lauterbrücke gebaut wurde.
